Karen S. Lindell, DNP, RN is the Director of Nursing Excellence with FirstHealth of the Carolinas. She has over 25 years of nursing experience and has subsequently held roles as a direct care nurse, nurse educator and nursing leader. In 2014, Karen joined Firsthealth of the Carolinas and is passionate about improving patient outcomes in an ever changing landscape of healthcare. Karen identified a growing need of new knowledge and education to satisfy the complexities and deficits of patient vascular access and care. She has created an analytics program with the organization's business intelligence team to evaluate EMR data, that focuses on dwell time, first stick success and appropriate vascular access selection.
