Kristyn has been a nurse for over 10 years and has worked in Infection Prevention for almost five. She currently works as an Infection Preventionist (IP) at UC San Diego Health where she conducts CLABSI surveillance. Prior to becoming an IP, Kristyn worked as an Oncology Nurse where she witnessed firsthand the devastating outcomes bloodstream infections can contribute to in this vulnerable patient population thus inspiring her to transition her career to preventing CLABSI and other Healthcare Associated Infections (HAIs). Kristyn currently serves as Treasurer for both the San Diego/Imperial County Chapter of the Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology(APIC) and the California APIC Coordinating Council. She is board-certified in infection control and vascular access and is excited to be here attending her first AVA Conference!
