Michelle DeVries was involved in infection prevention/healthcare epidemiology for more than 30 years spanning community, university, and federal facilities as well as post-acute settings. She was a reviewer for the 2016 and 2021 INS Infusion Therapy Standards of Practice and served on the committee as an author for the 2024 Standards. She was an expert advisor for National Quality Forum's Hospital Onset Bacteremia and Fungemia Playbook, a key contributor to the development of APIC's Implementation Guide for Catheter Associated Bloodstream Infection in Adults and is serving as the APIC representattive on the SHEA Guidelines Committee for Hospital Onset Bactereemia. She is a Senior Adjunct Research Fellow with AVATAR — the Alliance for Vascular Access Teaching and Research, past director at large with VACC (Vascular Access Certification Corporation), 2024 President of the Association for Vascular Access, co-president of her local network (HoosierVAN) and the Director of Clinical Strategy for ICU Medical.
