Lea Bartel, RN, VA-BC, has been a nurse for 23 years at Texas Children's Hospital, with 12 years of experience on the Vascular Access team and 10 years in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU). She graduated from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston in 2002. As a Quality Improvement Specialist for 2 years in PICU, Lea focused on CLABSI prevention. She initiated and currently manages a PICU central line nursing team, contributing significantly to the improvement of care in this high-acuity setting.
