Amy is a vascular access specialist with over 25 years of critical care and device insertion experience. She is a past winner of the 2016 Suzanne Levere Herbst award for excellence in Vascular Access. Amy completed her doctoral research that evidenced that vascular access specialists and teams should be available in all hospitals. Amy believes that all patients deserve safe and effective vascular access options which include ultrasound for every patient assessment and device insertion. She strongly beleives in simulated and hands on education to enhance confidence and procedural competance. Amy is the Past Presidential Advisor for the AVA Foundation for patient safety and the Global Vice President of Clinical and Medical affairs and Medical Director for the Global Vascular Business unit at Teleflex.
