A/Prof Christiane Theda is a neonatal consultant at the Royal Women’s Hospital in Melbourne, Australia, with honorary appointments at the University of Melbourne, Murdoch Children’s Research Institute and Johns Hopkins University. Originally from Germany, Christiane trained clinically in in the US and is Board certified in Pediatrics, Neonatology and Medical Genetics. She stayed on faculty at Johns Hopkins University until relocating to Melbourne, Australia, in 2009. Christiane works in the 59 bed NICU at the Royal Women's Hospital and as retrieval specialist for the Neonatal Transport Team (PIPER) based at the Royal Children's Hospital. In recent years, Christiane has become increasingly involved in research and innovation in the area of vascular access and the use of intravascular ECG in the NICU setting.
