Kathy Grieser has been a pediatric nurse for 47 years at Cook Children's Medical Center in Fort Worth, Texas. She has been involved with vascular access in various forms throughout that time in the NICU, PICU, CICU, as a staff nurse, manager and PICU CV Coordinator. She has been the Nurse Manager for the Vascular Access Team since 2019 and was a staff nurse on the team for the 6 years prior to that, placing peripheral IVs, drawing labs, placing PICC lines, repairing central lines, problem-solving all venous access devices, starting peripheral IVs, assessing and treating PIV infiltrations and helping to educate team members as well as nursing staff throughout the hospital on vascular access. She started the PICC team at Cook Children’s in 2005.
